Description

The naval architect would take part in software production, sales, distribution and support of leading edge products for ship salvage engineering, ship and offshore structure load management, and cruise ship intact and damage stability assessments. The naval architect will have the opportunity of working in a smaller company with other professionals that work closely together, enjoy their work, and produce quality products for the maritime and offshore industries. 
 

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong academic record and a BS degree in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering or Ocean Engineering.  Position requirements include: 

 

Job Requirements:

  • Up to five years experience overall; experience working with ship stability and strength is a plus

  • Interest in traveling for software support and installations

  • Must work well with people and possess good oral and written communications skills

  • Good organizational skills

  • Understanding of scheduling and an ability to adhere to strict deadlines

  • Strong work ethics and dedication

  • General interest in software

Responsibilities:

  • Project management of load management software production

  • Traveling for software support and installations

  • Interfacing with clients on software projects

  • Performance of calculations applying naval architecture principles and applicable regulations

  • Performance of other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Naval Architecture or other applicable discipline

  • 0-5 years of professional engineering experience

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite– ideally with some VBA Macro knowledge

  • Familiarity with HECSALV is a plus.

  • Experience with USCG and ABS regulations is a plus.

  • Must have a US Citizenship to apply

    Work will primarily be in our Alameda office with occasional travel for software support and installations. The successful candidate will have excellent communications skills and will be able to work both independently and as a part of an interdisciplinary team.
